They are most effective when used together, because OPKs can tell you when ovulation is coming (usually) and BBT can confirm it happened. Not everyone ovulates 12-24 hours from their positive OPK, it can be up to 72 hours after and in around 20% of women (I’m one of them!) ovulation can actually occur prior to/ immediately after the OPK turns positive..
